Application Process

Thank you for your interest in Blue Ridge School.  Admission to Blue Ridge is determined on the basis of character, potential, and previous academic record.  The following steps will guide you through the application process.  If you have any questions, please contact the Admissions Office at 434-985-2811.

Step 1: Complete Application Online

Please complete the three online forms below. All forms may be saved and submitted at a later date if you wish. The applicant profile form (domestic and international) requires a fee for processing: $50 online for domestic applicants and $100 online for international applicants.

1. Applicant Profile
2. Student Questionnaire: Short Answers and Essay
3. Parent Statement

Step 2: Submit Transcript and Recommendations

1. School report and official transcript
2. Teacher and Personal Recommendations

Give the above forms to your current school with stamped envelopes addressed to the Blue Ridge School Admission Office (273 Mayo Drive, St. George, Virginia 22935). The school must then send the official transcript and school report directly to Blue Ridge.

All four recommendations by the appropriate persons must be submitted to complete the application process.

Step 3: Schedule Campus Visit and Admissions Interview

In order to complete the application, we recommend our prospective students and their families visit Blue Ridge School. The visit will include a personal tour of the campus and the applicant's admissions interview. We encourage parents to bring unofficial transcripts, recent report cards or educational testing to the campus visit.

All applicants must interview as part of the admissions process. Students who cannot make it to campus for an interview may do so via Skype ®. Please call the Office of Admissions to schedule your visit and interview (434-985-2811).

Step 4: Submit Testing

If current (within two years) educational/psychological or other diagnostic testing related to the applicant's aptitude or achievement is available, please forward copies to the Office of Admissions.  Blue Ridge School may require testing before considering an application.

Second language applicants are required to submit official iTEP SLATE, SSAT, TOEFL Junior or TOEFL scores.

The support that our son received from Blue Ridge School was breathtaking. The teachers cared for Darryl as if he was their own son. They all did a great job preparing him for the real world. I thank them all for bringing out the best in him. - Marsha Smith (Darryl ’13 is attending Cornell University.)
