Application Process

Admission to Blue Ridge School is determined on the basis of character, potential, and previous academic record; we consider each candidate's school record, teacher recommendations, and standardized test results.

Application Schedule:  We are considering applications for September 2010 enrollment on a rolling basis while space is available. You may elect to send in the application one component at a time or all at once (please see below for a list of the application components.)  Once the application is complete, you will hear of the admissions decision within one week.

Four Application Options:   You may choose one of the following methods to apply to Blue Ridge School.
1) Download the forms below and submit hard copies by mail.

2) Apply electronically by clicking on the links below.

3) Use the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) common form by clicking here.

PLEASE NOTE:  The following Application Components are required when using the Blue Ridge School paper and electronic applications.  The SSAT and TABS applications have their own unique requirements.  Please see their websites for details.

Application Components:  The following components are necessary for an application to be complete.  Forms for each component (except Testing) can be downloaded for your use.  The General Application, Student Questionnaire and Essay, and Parent Statement can be filled out electronically and sent directly to the Admissions office.  Copies of our application are also available through the Admissions Office and will be provided upon request.

  • Campus Visit :  A campus visit for a tour and an interview is an essential part of the admissions process for the applicant, the parents, and the School.  It is helpful for the Admissions Office to have as much information about the applicant as possible prior to your visit.  Whenever possible, both parents are encouraged to be present.  Please call the Admissions Office at 434-985-2811 to schedule your visit; we will do everything we can to accommodate you.  If circumstances prevent you from visiting the School, please call the Admissions Office to discuss the possibility of making alternative arrangements.
  • International students:  International applicants requiring a student visa must submit an affidavit of financial support.  Second language applicants should submit official SLEP or TOEFL scores.  The application fee for overseas applicants is $100, due to the additional cost of mailing and faxing.
