Blue Ridge Private School Outdoor Program

Annual Events

  • 9th Grade Wilderness Based Orientation – A 5 day/4 night camping, rock climbing and biking adventure program designed for team building and promoting personal growth within our incoming freshmen class.
  • Brokenback Challenge – Yearly adventure race taking place in the Fall, when students team up with a teacher to win bragging rights…that is until next year…
  • The Great Blue Ridge School Campout – A unique solo reflection experience, where students participate in a weeklong progressive campout.
  • Ride the Ridge – Yearly mountain bike race (open to the public and part of the Virginia Off-Road Series) taking place in the Spring to benefit World Bicycle Relief (http://www.worldbicyclerelief.org/).
  • Earth Day – Outdoor education programming for the entire campus community that promote outdoor appreciation and environmental stewardship.
  •  Habitat for Humanity 5k – hosted on our campus trails
  • Destination Trips – Grand Tetons mountaineering (2010); Moab mountain biking (2008); California rock climbing (2007); New Mexico backpacking (2006).
