First Annual Alumni Lacrosse GAME
saturday, april 24, 2010
And what a game it was! Blue Ridge School lacrosse-playing alumni and friends played one another to a hard-fought 9-9 tie in front of an enthusiastic crowd of fellow alumni, current students, current parents, faculty and staff. Major League Lacrosse star Chazz Woodson '01, currently with the Chicago Machine, played -- as did former Coach Rob Waters and current Coach Nic Bell. John Maclin '69 was by far our most veteran player. Chris Norton '09 will go down in history as having scored the very first goal. Others who scored goals were Nathan Greenwood '09, Will King '00, Paul Lawlor '08, Pat Powell '96, Max Ruehrmund '09, Thorton Tayloe '94 and Chazz Woodson '01. Sam Fosdick '05 and Tom Rogers '96 made many saves in goal.
A big thank you to New Balance for sponsoring the shirts that each player received with the registration fee. Another big thank you to David Townsend '75, who sponsored the silk screening on the shirts in honor of the Class of 1975.
A Letter From Chazz Woodson '01.

This game was the result of a great idea by Sam Fosdick '05 and Rory Bosek '04. They have created a facebook group called Blue Ridge School Lacrosse Alumni Game, which will serve as a way in which alumni may continue to support the Blue Ridge School lacrosse program and prepare for next year's alumni bout.
