Don't miss a big weekend of mountain biking action at Blue Ridge School on March 30th and 31st. BRS is hosting two different race formats on its 15-mile network of trials.
Saturday, March 30, will be the 13th annual Ride the Ridge to benefit the non-profit organziation World Bicycle Relief. With three different categories, Ride the Ridge will challenge experienced riders and allow new riders to enjoy the thrill of mountain bike racing. Men, women, and youth can compete in either Beginner, Expert/XCAT, or Sport. Entry is only $25. Register now at Webscorer.
All proceeds from the Ride the Ridge race benefit the World Bicycle Relief organization, a non-profit dedicated to providing access to independence and livelihood through the power of bicycles. The group’s various projects span several countries and focus on supporting disaster relief and healthcare mobilization.
Sunday features the Moonshiner's Enduro, an exciting downhill race. The event will be completely chip timed and includes 6 timed stages, 4 uphill transfers and 1 shuttle. Categories and distances include Adult and Jr. Beginner: 2 uphill non-timed transfers and 3 timed downhills. Everyone else: 4 uphill non-timed transfers, 1 vehicle shuttle, and 6 timed downhills. Plans are underway to include on-site camping available for particpants, social rides, food trucks, music, and bike demos. Details about camping registration and vendors will be announced after they have been finalized.
