Blue Ridge School Chairman of the Board Mitch Rue ’81 presented the Distinguished Service Award to longtime faculty member Dan Dunsmore.

Mr. Dunsmore is the Chair of the English Department and has held a variety of roles at the School over the years, including Director of the Annual Fund and Director of Alumni Relations before joining the Fishburne Learning Center as a teacher. Outside the classroom, Dunsmore has coached Squire basketball for many years and forms strong bonds with students in all classes.

Chairman Rue said, “Dan is an outstanding representation of the dedicated faculty we have at Blue Ridge. His love of teaching and character development in boys is obvious to all who meet him.”

Mr. Dunsmore has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee (and is a big Vols basketball fan!). He has a master’s degree in Secondary English Education from Georgia State University.
