Summer programs

ELL Summer Camp

Who?

The ELL Camp is for international students who are new to Blue Ridge School. The camp is spearheaded by Peter Cole, Director of the ELL program at Blue Ridge School, and Janice Brasted, learning specialist.

What? 

Strengthen English reading, writing, and speaking skills as you get to know the people and community of Blue Ridge School.

Gain new understandings of how to learn and study more effectively in less time.

More than just classes. Students will also have access to all that Blue Ridge School has to offer, including mountain biking, hiking, fishing, basketball and fitness gym, swimming, and much more!

A sample day includes:

  • Preview the day over breakfast with the group
  • Researching and preparing an original presentation for the class
  • Delicious lunch in the new dining hall
  • Swimming in the pool
  • Explore the hiking and biking trails on the mountain beside campus
  • Enjoy a cookout overlooking the lake
  • Watch a movie under the stars

When? 

The 2022 Summer Camp meets for 13 days from August 15-27, with four hours of instruction each day. There will be breaks throughout each day with enough time for students to get a snack or eat a meal. The sessions is open to all levels of English proficiency.

Cost? 

All camp classes, meals, and activities are covered by a fee of only $3,100. Transportation to and from Blue Ridge School must be covered by the participants.
