Originally from Peru, Aaron Cortez moved to the U.S. at age 15 and completed high school in Tucson, Arizona. He earned my bachelor’s degree in Spanish Literature from the University of Arizona. After graduation, he returned to Peru, where he gained valuable experience in education—serving as a teacher, academic coordinator, and later as an academic advisor for EducationUSA, a U.S. Department of State network that promotes U.S. higher education to students worldwide .
Aaron is fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, and he is passionate about fostering cross-cultural connections through language and education.
Outside of work, Aaron enjoys playing indoor soccer with friends and cruising around on his longboard. Aaron is married and has a lively three-year-old daughter; they love spending time outdoors and exploring new places together. Cooking is another passion of Aaron’s—during college, he worked as a garde manger in the main kitchen at the University of Arizona, and his home kitchen remains one of his favorite places to be.
Aaron is thrilled to join Blue Ridge School because of its strong commitment to education and core values, especially the emphasis on family and community. Aaron is also excited to be part of the soccer program and look forward to contributing his experience and energy both on and off the field.
