Leaving Campus
  • Bus to Dulles leaves at 12:30PM
  • Bus to CHO leaves at  12:30PM - more may be scheduled
    if the demand is there
  • Transportation to Amtrak rides with CHO and gets
    dropped off as needed
Returning to Campus
  • Bus to BRS leaves Dulles at 4pm (exit the door near
    baggage claim 5)

         (Please note, the bus can not remain on the curb in
          front of door 5. The driver will either be inside at
          baggage claim 5 or with the bus in short-term parking.)

  • Bus to BRS from CHO as needed until 7pm
  • Transportation to Amtrak same as CHO

Fall Long Weekend:
Leave request forms are due September 19.
The weekend begins Friday, Sept. 28 at Noon (leave is optional ‐ School will remain open)
Ends Monday, October 1 at 7:00 pm

Leave request forms are due November 7.
The weekend begins Friday, November 16 at Noon
Ends Monday, November 26 at 7:00 pm

Leave request forms are due December 5.
The weekend begins Thursday, December 20 at Noon 
Ends January 6 at 7:00 pm

Mid‐Winter Break:
Leave request forms are due January 23.
The weekend begins Friday, February 1 at Noon (optional ‐ School will remain open)
Ends Monday, February 4 at 7:00 pm 

Spring Break:
Leave request forms are due February 20.
The weekend begins Friday, March 1 at Noon 
Ends Sunday, March 17 at 7:00 pm

Leave request forms are due by April 10.
The weekend begins Thursday, April 18 at Noon (optional ‐ School will remain open)
Ends Monday, April 22 at 7:00 pm

End-of-Year Departure: 
No leave request forms are required for end‐of‐year departure.

  • May 24 - Undergraduates may depart no earlier than 12 noon.  Parents are encouraged to communicate travel plans to avoid problems, and undergraduates who are using our buses will be asked to sign‐up, specifying details, by mid-May.  They will not be approved for earlier leave. Transportation will be provided for those who sign up and buses will leave at 12:30 pm to Charlottesville (arriving at CHO by 1:30 pm) and to Dulles Airport (arriving at IAD by 3:00 pm, dropping off students at domestic departures.)
  • May 25 - Campus and dorms will be closed and quiet during Commencement exercise, 9:30am - 12:00 noon.  Graduating seniors are free to leave campus after commencement ceremony. No school transportation is provided.  (School closed 5/26, 9:00 am*)

*International Travel:   Due to the infrequency of international flights, students traveling internationally will be permitted to remain in the dorms until 9:00 am the following morning of Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break and Commencement.  Parents and Guardians of International Students are asked to contact our Residence Life Coordinator, Mr. Hans Hermanson, at or call 434-985-2811.
