Blue Ridge School Lacrosse Program Looks To Build Momentum After Winning First State Title
Athletics News
Dedication of the Baron Athletic Complex
Built for Teamwork
With recent state championships in basketball, football, track and lacrosse, the Barons are tough to beat. Many boys go on to earn Division I & II college scholarships. However, the impact of our athletic program goes well beyond the playing field.
Our athletic teams are an intentional part of the overall Blue Ridge experience, developing character as much as they develop fitness and teamwork. Our all-boarding environment deepens that experience, creating tight bonds between boys who learn, live, and play together. This environment teaches them to hold their team, culture, and the greater good above their differences.

Blue Ridge School Athletics Mission
Athletics are an integral part of the education a student receives at Blue Ridge School. We pride ourselves on running a competitive athletic program that focuses on the student athlete experience. Our student athletes develop through practice, competition and collaborative team efforts. We believe athletics help build character, perseverance and teamwork, all qualities that we seek to instill in our students.
Athletics Staff
Here to Help
With a focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development, our Athletic staff guides our student-athletes to reach their full potential while preparing them for success in college and beyond.
Coaching Staff
Extraordinary Coaches
Our coaching staff is at the heart of the Blue Ridge School athletic program.
Many of our coaches also serve as classroom teachers and live on campus, creating authentic relationships that extend far beyond practice or game time. This unique connection allows coaches to mentor boys not only in athletics, but also in character, leadership, and personal growth.
Facilities
Each Sport Has A Home
Our Baron Athletic Complex includes an all-season turf field, a 2000 square-foot weight room, and a multi-sport field house.
When you add that to our 750-acre campus and 20 miles of trails for biking, cross-country, and outdoor programs, you’ll find most schools can’t compete with the variety of offerings and facilities Blue Ridge School offers.
Barons In College
Moving On Up
We’re proud to see many of our Barons taking the skills and lessons they learned here at BRS to serve them well in college athletics.
Athletics News
Blue Ridge School has checked every box a parent could desire. BRS has a diversity in both the teaching staff and in the student body. It has a remarkably low student to teacher ratio, which is realized in most classes and translates into outstanding academic experiences. It has the philosophy and resources to effectively engage and direct boys.”
BRS Parent
Blue Ridge School has completely changed my life. It is by far one of the best schools in Virginia and nationwide. Our culture and diversity is unmatched to that of any other boarding school in the country. It is truly a home to me and all of my classmates, we are truly one big family. That is why we here at Blue Ridge school call ourselves Baron Brothers.”
BRS Sophomore
Both of my sons attended the Blue Ridge School. We sent them two boys and they sent us back men. They graduated from great universities, are married and have settled into great careers. We have many fond memories and cannot recommend the school highly enough.”
BRS Parent
I attended Blue Ridge in 1985, 1986 and graduated in 1987. I was a summer school counselor in 1988. It’s like home to me and the best thing that happened to me at that time. It made me who I am today and I made life long friends. The school is exceptional and anyone who is able to attend is truly blessed.”
BRS Alumni
My time at Blue Ridge School has been unforgettable. The outdoor adventures, from hiking scenic trails to bonding with my Baron brothers, have shaped my experience. Exploring the mountains, running the trails, and enjoying the fresh air has given me a deep appreciation for nature.”
BRS Junior
The sense of brotherhood here is incredible, whether through late-night talks, shared challenges, or intense games of football and golf. The thrill of competition, the hard work at practice, and the celebrations after victories have all been unforgettable. Sports taught me teamwork, resilience, and discipline, helping me grow both on and off the field.”
BRS Senior
