Giving Is a Ball
The New York Auxiliary’s annual Blue & White Ball is the oldest continuous charity event in New York, operating during two World Wars and the Great Depression. And it benefits Blue Ridge School. It’s an interesting story. In the early 20th century there were many southerners in NYC who had made their mark in industry after the conclusion of the Civil War. Education in the south was a key philanthropic focus for them. So in 1909 they formed the New York Auxiliary of Blue Ridge School. Now, over 100 years later, they are still supporting capital building projects and scholarships for our Barons. Best of all, if you want to support their philanthropy, all you have to do is attend the ball!
